About Mrs. South Dakota 2008

This journey began for me when I was pregnant, platinum blond and had braces on.  I was 31 years old and stepped out of my comfort zone to attend modeling classes.  This was something I always wanted to do, but never did.  Little did I know that it would be the beginning of learning more about myself, meeting new people, seeing the world differently and ultimately seeing God work in my life and all around.  Even in a beauty pageant, God is working all the time, however we can be so easily blinded by the ways of this world.

"God's wisdom... goes deep into the interior of his purposes.  It's not the latest message, but more like the oldest-what God determined as the way to bring out HIS best is US." - 1 Corinthians 2:7

That is what this experience has done for me.  I feel that the crown was awarded to me to bring out the best in me.  On June 28th, 2008 I was a winner before going to the pageant.  I committed to myself to volunteer with an organization that holds a special place in my heart, The Alpha Center.  Being adopted, I am so grateful to my birthmother for choosing the gift of life.  It is a message that I want to share with everyone.

Since June 28th life has been busy.  In additon to being a wife of 11 years, mother to two children, and a business owner, I have been able to do many appearances and work on my certification as a counselor with the Alpha Center.  I couldn’t have done all of this without the help of my friends and family.  I am so thankful for my loving husband who won the title of "Mr. South Dakota 2008" which means living with a very busy wife and becoming a Mr. Mom at times.  I am also very grateful for all the support of family, friends and the community.

I created this website to share my journey as Mrs. South Dakota 2008.  This experience has been life changing.  I hope you will enjoy the photos and stories.  But if nothing else, please take this life promise with you:

"And all who believe in God's Son have eternal life." - John 3:36
